Printer installation on external Linux devices

The most important requirement for printing from a personal inux laptop is an active windows account in the domain Astrophysik.

First you need to create an account on your linux laptop that has the same username as the windows account.

Edit the /etc/cups/client.conf with your prefered editor and add the following line:

ServerName nisprint.aip.de:631/version=1.1

After adding the line you might need to restart running programs.

Now you have the printers AIP-MFP-color and AIP-MFP-color-landscape available in the list of your printers.

If you do not already have a PIN/card for printing, the PIN will be sent to your e-mail after the first print job. You can get your printer card at the IT-Service's Office at SH 007. Please bring your printer PIN with you.
