Abinaya Omkumar

I am a doctoral candidate in the "Dwarf Galaxies and the Galactic Halo" group and interested in understanding the dwarf galaxy interactions and evolution. For my work, I study the central regions of the Magellanic clouds using the VISTA Deep survey under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Maria-Rosa Cioni. I will also be working with Dr. Smitha Subramanian in the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bangalore for my doctoral studies.

I completed my Master’s degree in Physics from Thiagarajar College, Madurai in 2019. Later I was studying the stellar sub-structures in the outer regions of the SMC using the Gaia DR2 data with Dr. Smitha Subramanian as a research assistant in IIA.
