ARCHES
ARCHES will focus on the 3XMM (DR4) catalogue data from the XMM-Newton mission. New tools will be developed for cross-correlation with extensive archival resources, producing well-characterised multi-wavelength data in the form of spectral energy distributions for large sets of objects. These enhanced resources will significantly broaden the effective exploitation of the data by the scientific community in the exploration of a wide range of forefront astrophysical questions.
At the AIP a software tool is developed that searches for galaxy clusters at X-ray positions obtained with XMM-Newton and in ground- and space-based multi-wavelength imaging and spectroscopic data. The tool will be used to make the important step from a catalogue of detections in multi-wavelength data to a science-grade catalogue of galaxy clusters. The validated catalogue will be disseminated into the community for fast access and scientific exploitation.
